Belinda Sykes & JOGLARESA
Born in New Zealand, starting the violin at age four and at the University of Auckland from age eleven: Juliette was the recipient of many prestigious scholarships over the years. Already a 'working musician' from age 13: together with Swing-era musicians, she performed by Royal Request at official Tongan State celebrations and gave her first solo jazz violin feature for national radio age 15. Juliette also began performing Celtic music, from traditional to Celtic Rock: on fiddle, mandolin and tin-whistle. Graduating with a Bachelor of Music at only 19 years of age, she was featured in several nationally-televised performances, before accepting her first international touring contract as the Fiddle Soloist in Gaelforce Dance.
After taking a break from touring to complete her Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Violin Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music in England (while also performing & recording in Britain's jazz, Klezmer, world-music & Reggae scenes; touring the UK & Europe with Irish rock bands; and kindling her interest in Medieval music at Switzerland's Schola Cantorum): Juliette's full-time career as an adaptable and exciting soloist, has continued to take her around the world.
